About The Project.

This considered residential project in Petts Wood, Kent, centred on designing a home that works beautifully for every member of the family. With a focus on accessibility throughout, the scheme demonstrates how thoughtful design can meet genuine functional need without ever compromising on quality or character.

The ground floor open plan living and dining space forms the heart of the project. Designed to move freely and feel generous, the room brings together the practical and the refined in equal measure. A key challenge was the integration of an accessibility lift, which was carefully concealed within a run of bespoke joinery. The result sits quietly within the room, indistinguishable from the surrounding cabinetry, preserving the integrity of the space while delivering exactly the function the family required.

The accessible wet room extends that same thinking to one of the home’s most personal spaces. Designed to accommodate a hoist and changing table, it is a room that answers a real and specific brief, yet it is finished with the same attention to detail as any other part of the scheme. Practical requirements and considered design are not in conflict here. They are the same thing.

The project stands as a reminder that the best interiors are those that are designed around the people who live in them, and that a home designed with care for everyone is simply a better home.
